Byron Murray

Pastor

Pastor Murray was first called by God to be a minister in December of 2000 as a member of the Brookhollow Baptist Church. There he and his wife Marcella sat under the anointed and inspirational teaching of Pastor Ralph West. To stretch and grow in his newly discovered gift, he taught foundational classes for new members and participated in the Kyrgma ministry; a ministry designed for the preparation and training of preachers.

In January of 2004, God began to birth in Pastor Murray the vision to plant the Fellowship of Purpose Church. The vision has given Pastor Murray and Sister Marcella a passion to see God’s people live according to God’s purpose for their lives and to understand that their commitment to Christ must extend beyond Sunday morning service. It should spill over into every aspect of life, including our careers, leisure activities, and relationships. God has challenged Byron and Marcella to use the Fellowship of Purpose Church as the platform in which to teach others that Christianity is not something we do, but who we are.

Pastor Murray holds a Master of Pastoral Theology from the Anersonville Theological Seminary. His teaching style is practical, encouraging and grounded in biblical truth. He explains scripture in a transparent way and challenges listeners to be doers of the Word and not hearers only. Pastor Murray and Marcella both have a strong desire to minister to those who do not yet have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and those who are not living in their God-given purpose. They envision the Fellowship of Purpose Church as a place where people come to realize and appreciate that purpose begins and ends with God. They have three beautiful daughters: Brittani, Gabrielle, and Bethany Grace.
